Uddina hittu / udnittu, or uddina hittina gojju / Urad dal recipe is protein rich, calcium rich, spicy side dish which goes well with rice. THis is one of the popular foods from Udupi Mangalore region of Karnataka.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp split black gram / Uddina bele/urad dal
3/4 tsp salt or salt to taste
few curry leaves
Finely chopped 4 green chillies(more or less)
finely chopped coriander leaves
For seasoning:
2 tsp coconut oil
little hing
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
1 curd chilli/balakada menasinakayi
around 1/2 cup water to soak the uddina bele/dal
1/2 cup sour curd/yogurt (if the curd is not sour add some lemon juice to the gojju)
